Make 2 NAME lines for Avery 5160
I need to print address labels like this:
Parent first and last names on line 1 Student first and last name on line 2 Address on Line 3 City St Zip on Line 4 I guess I could just put student's first and last name into one cell and name it Company Name so that it would print out on line 2 of a label. But how do I set up a custom label template using my student first and last name cells on Line 2? I have Word 2003. Thanks in advance! Kim |

I gather that you are using the AddressBlock. Instead of using that, just
insert the individual mergefields that you want to use in the configuration that you want them. -- Hope this helps. Please reply to the newsgroup unless you wish to avail yourself of my services on a paid consulting basis. Doug Robbins - Word MVP "kimmer" wrote in message ... Now when I choose More Items instead of the Address Block set up for my labels, I do find my other fields. Now my question is, when I choose Match Fields as the next step,, my student 1 and student 2 cells are not listed as choices to match. Also, when I insert my own database fields on the 5160 label, how do I move to the next line when I'm adding the fields? When I press enter, it just adds the same information again, and when I just keep choosing fields, the fields just keep wrapping. |

There is no matching of fields involved! Just insert the fields directly
into the labels - see http://www.gmayor.com/mail_merge_lab...th_word_xp.htm -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org kimmer wrote: "kimmer" wrote: I need to print address labels like this: Parent first and last names on line 1 Student first and last name on line 2 Address on Line 3 City St Zip on Line 4 I guess I could just put student's first and last name into one cell and name it Company Name so that it would print out on line 2 of a label. (Just in case) make sure you have the Database Fields radio button selected
at the top of the Insert field dialog box, not the Address Fields button. If you use the Database fields button you see the fields that are actually in your data source. If you use the Address fields button, you see a standardised list of names that you then have to map to the actual names in your data source. Peter Jamieson "kimmer" wrote in message ... After reading your comment now I can place anything I want on labels! Sometimes I get stuck on the tiniest details - and your answer was a real DUH! I'm so glad this board is here! Kim |
