Make ALL office apps able 2 set template path like you can in Word
I want to set up a dedicated area on my HDD that deals with ALL templates.
For some reason Microsoft only allows Word to set a proper alternative path for templates. It would seem sensible if the feature in Word was available in all MS office applications, I can't understand why you haven't before. Also I want to turn off the annoying templates 'side panel', when loading a template a user should really know what they want and where it is, it would be better to have a button on the templates folder window that one can click to activate the annoying 'side panel' IF required. ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes. Hi,
I see it the other way round. The Templates location already exists %UserProfile%\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates but Word let's you screw it up. Just stick to the standard mechanisms. The exception to this is the "Workgroup Templates" folder which is designed for networks. TheDivvy wrote: I want to set up a dedicated area on my HDD that deals with ALL templates.
