1-100
Is it possible to have row A numbered from 1 to 100, and if one of the
numbers is removed the count will automatically change? i.e. 1 2 3 4 etc. Now 2 gets deleted, how can i get excel to change 3 to 2 and so on for the rest of the numbers. hope this makes sense at all :? --------- www.coffeecozy.com Use your Bodum and give up cold coffee for good! |

Hi
in A1 enter =IF(B1"",1,"") in A2 enter =IF(B2"",MAX($A$1:OFFSET(A2,-1,0))+1,"") and copy this formula down for as many rows as required. Now everytime someone enters data in column B column A shows a ID value -- Regards Frank Kabel Frankfurt, Germany "schaduw - ExcelForums.com" schrieb im Newsbeitrag ...
