Default Linking visible cells only

I have managed to link data frmo cells in one workbook to
another workbook. However when I first linked them, as
the source data had hidden rows that I did not want
linking, I selected Visible Cells only and then pasted the
link into the other workbook.

However, now when the source data changes and Excel
updates the link, the hidden rows are linked instead of
the visible ones. How can I automatically get Excel to
upload/link to the visible cells instead of automatically
updating the hidden cells which I do not want to view?

If you now have different rows hidden than before, you will have to
redo the linking. You could create a macro to (re)create the links for
you and run it when appropriate.

Alternatively if you don't need the linked values to be in cells (ie
you don't use them in formulas) then you could just copy and paste-link
a picture of the source range. Hold down the shift key while using the
Edit menu to get the relevant commands.
