Default .email extension

Hi MM,

Thanks for confirming .email extension will not display in Outlook Express
even though Outlook Express is assign to open .email extensions.

However it does display in Outlook Express when changed to .eml.

Strange.....

I do not have a answer to the problem.

| Hi Shakey,

|
| You can change .email to open with Outlook Express.
|
| By the way, what program does .email open with now?
|
| As Ron suggested, save your .email to hard disc.
|
| Right click it and choose Properties.
|

Default .email extension

No bet. LoL However Google search always refers to MSM as the problem, no
cures though.
But what good does that do me for opening these type of files direct from
attachment?

Please define "received from MSN"?

Has the message been (repeatedly) forwarded and/or sent by someone using
MS Outlook?

Default .email extension

A .email (or .ema) or .ezm file is an alternate file extension for an
..EML file. One option is to save the attachment, then rename with an
..EML file name.

Or you can create a file association for .email, .ema or .ezm files.

You can get to File Associations via:
- My Computer
- View (Win95/98/NT4/Me) or Tools (Win2000 or WinXP) menu
- Folder Options (or Options)
- File Types
- New Type
- New
- Action: OPEN

The application used needs to be:
"C:\PROGRAM FILES\OUTLOOK EXPRESS\MSIMN.EXE" /eml:%1

Content Type (MIME) should be:
message/rfc822

Depending on your version of Windows, you may not see the Content type
while setting up the file association. In that case, don't worry about
it.

Default .email extension

The problem's caused by the mail client and/or formatting previous senders
have used. Not much of anything you can do about it other than what you
learned in this thread.

Of course, you could always try opening the message & attachment via the
account's web-mail page inbox.

Hi MM,

Suggestion.....

Attach one of your .email messages to your next post.

This will let others examine the problem.

The msn newsgroup sever allows attachment under 99kb in size.
