Default .email extension

Opening ".email" extension attachments received from MSN results in a
screen showing code rather than page. I have .email file extension set to
outlook explorer.
I Google many others saying this but no fixes. Can anyone here recommend a
way to have these open in OE6 or IE6-sp3.

Did you mean Outlook Express?
OE should work, if is doesn't, save to the hard drive and change the file
extension to eml.

Yes I did mean Outlook express and that don't work. Consistent with what
Google says about msn's .email files.
Your second suggestion worked fine, thank you, but isn't practical with
people who sends me many email files. Its just too cumbersome to use to
routinely read incoming mail but great for occasional use..

Please define "received from MSN"?

Has the message been (repeatedly) forwarded and/or sent by someone using MS
Outlook?

Hi Shakey,

You can change .email to open with Outlook Express.

By the way, what program does .email open with now?

As Ron suggested, save your .email to hard disc.

Right click it and choose Properties.

Properties dialog window will display what program is assigned to Opens
with:

Notice you can click Change to choose and assign the program you want to
use.

If you need more help, post back.

Using your suggestions I saved the xxx.email file and changed it to a eml
file. works fine, opens in OE
Properties show program to be used as OE--that's logical.
changed to xxx.email in hard disk - oe window pops open with last page view
but no xxx.email file display. Properties again "still" show as opens with
OE.
Its straight forward. MY OE6 will not open a .email file or maybe just those
forwarded by MSN as many Google results show.
