Problem Printing out Outlook Contacts
I'm using Outlook 2007 as part of Microsoft Office Small Business. Today I
tried to print out a contact listing for the first time (installed only a couple of months ago so I don't know if this has been a problem the whole time or if my problem "just started") when I print out all my Contacts, Outlook is merging the names of some of my contacts and using the address of one of the contacts. Example: Mary Smith Mark Sutter 123 Main st. anytown , USA 12345 prints out when in fact Mary Smith and Mark Sutter are 2 separate contacts with 2 different addresses. It does not do this to all of the contacts so I tried deleting the contacts effected and reinputting them but it happens again. Also, if I try to print out a single contact, sometimes it prints out okay and sometimes only the name will print - no address! Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening and what I can do to correct it? I'm just about ready to just uninstall Outlook and then reinstall it and manually reinput all my contacts and calendar appointments/events. I don't have a huge number of contacts input yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

Two things - may I ask WHY you need to print out a contact list in the first place, and secondly, un-installing and re-installing will a) not cure this and b) will not affect any of your Outlook data. |

Problem Printing out Outlook Contacts
I have figured out something. When printing, Outlook "merges" a contact
whose "file as name" is too long to fit on one line with the contact immediately following it. I wanted to print two columns on each page and assumed that it would print a 2 line "file as" name (it did this in the 2003 version). If I decrease the font or print only one column on the page and it can all fit on only one line, it no longer "merges" with the next contact. "mikejanj" wrote:.
