Default Inserting from another presentation

When I try to insert slides from another presentation,
they don't keep the original background. What can I do?
Thanks in advance, FABIO

PowerPoint 2002 and 2003 allow you to have multiple masters. Earlier
versions don't. No multiple masters means only one slide design per file.
Luckily for you, Echo has a great series of articles on getting around this
problem if you have the earlier versions. Find them at URL:
http://www.echosvoice.com/multipletemplates.htm
You are specifically looking for the link called "Multiple Design Templates
(PPT 2000 and 97)"

If you have one of the newer versions, then you want to use Insert-- Slides
from file. When you have selected the slides to add, be sure to check the
box about retaining source formatting.
