Importing Excel in Outlook 2007

I believe I am doing everything correct with the wizard, but nothing seem to
end up in the contact. Any idea?

lack of a named range is often the cause - see

to import from excel.

Ben,

I have exported contracts from Goldmine to an Excel file. Now I am trying
to import them into Outlook 2007, which I have just installed. I go to
Import and Export from the File menu. Click on Import From Another Program
or File, select Microsoft Excel 97-2003, browse and select my Excel file.
Then select Contracts as the destination folder, select Map Custom Fields as
all the names don’t match. Drag the names over to the appropriate fields,
click OK and Finish. The program seems to run for a bit, but nothing appears
in the Contacts.

Diane,

The first time I was missing some fields in the Map Custom Fields section of
the Wizard and I needed to change the named range to see them. I can see and
map all fields now, but nothing is getting imported into Contacts even though
it seems to run for a bit.

Check the named range in Excel - does it include all of the records?

That's not 2007-specific. All versions of Outlook require an appropriate
named range to import from a spreadsheet. Many people use a CSV file instead
because there are no named ranges for that type of file.
