Criteria based on Check Boxes
Hello,
I'm not sure if this is possible but its best to ask. Is there a way to run a query and the criteria be based on Check Boxes in a form? I currently have a drop down menu but the users are requesting Check Boxes to make their lives easier. Thanks Joe |

Criteria based on Check Boxes
On my website (www.rogersaccesslibrary.com), is a small Access database
sample called "CreateQueries3.mdb" which illustrates one way to do this. You can download it for free he http://www.rogersaccesslibrary.com/f...ts.asp?TID=367. However, there's one design consideration before you give in to your users. What happens if you need to add a new value? With a combo box, you can just add values to the Row Source (I usually have the row source of combos come from small, reference tables small tables). Adding a new value with Check Boxes (or Option Group) requires, you, the developer, to modify the form design each and every time. And don't say it will never change. It ALWAYS changes. For an illustrated case-study (one that came from real life) see my sample: ReallyBadDesignDecisions.
