OE dbx folders Open With.......
Hi Guys.....
Haven't done much with the "restored" dbx files......some transferred OK onto the new format and some didn't. But in messing around with that OE Identities folder in Windows Explorer, I think (but am not sure) that I changed something and want to know if I did and how to change it. I thought I was being careful and cancelling my way out of things, but not sure on this. All of the *.dbx files now show Firefox as the program that will OPEN them. Short of going to a couple of the neighbours to see what their folders show as an icon thing, can you guys tell me if yours show Firefox?? I connected the Clickfree backup and the older files were also FF......so am just not sure. If I go into Control Panel/FolderOptions, under File Types, any of them that I highlight say to "use Advanced to change settings that affect all *** files". However when I click on *DBX, the Advanced box changes to "Restore" and it doesn't say any blurb about Using Advanced etc. In fact, it doesn't say *.dbx at all. So to my way of thinking, clicking on Restore for that one just might put it back to whatever it was. I hope you understand what I am talking about. I still have no Cookie or TIF folder in that Documents & Settings tree which bothers me, but I can get rid of that stuff a different way. However, I guess that is an IE problem, so will be content with an answer to the *dbx files and what should be the "Open With" program. And I have no intention of opening them, but was messing around and obviously (to my eyes) changed something. I am not having any problems with them. Thanks guys......Heather (Figgs) |

Yes (and you should've been paying closer attention when installing FF, my
dear wink). Heather wrote: You mean I was worrying my head off over nothing?? Damn!! "PA Bear [MS MVP]" wrote in message ... Don't worry about it. Installing FF didn't cause the OE problem.....I did. (G) I have used FF
for a long time and that never happened before. I must have accidentally OK'd something when I was prowling in the OE Identity folder. Birthday???? And I forgot to say that Ms. E sends her very best to you, along with some sort of boa?? (eg) "PA Bear [MS MVP]" wrote in message ...
