Office 2007 Upgrade Installation Error
I am trying to install the Office 2007 Small Business Upgrade (from Office
2003 professional) and after entering the product key the process stalls at the progress bar and after a minute a screen appears with "Microsoft Office Small Business 2007 Encountered an Error During Setup", and it has a "Close" button. There is no error number. I have searched all the knowledge base articles regarding this, done the install without any anti-virus, done a disk defrag, cleaned the registry, all with the same result. I tried to copy the setup to the C:\My Documents file outlined on one of the knowledge base articles and use the "Self-extractor" command to run setup from the C drive. XP doesn't recognize this command. I tried to get onto Online Support, but it either asked me for payment, or for a product ID number. I have tried all the numbers on the box and the product key and I don't get anywhere. What are my options? I'm stuck with new software that won't install. |
