I have Office 2000, including Access. If I upgrade to the home edition of
Office 2007, which does not include Access, will the old Access 2000 still
be available on my computer, or will the installation remove it?

Do a custom install of Office 2000, and you can indicate that you want to
retain the old Access 2000.

Thanks, but I don't quite follow. I want to install the Home edition of
Office 2007, which does NOT contain Access, but retain the Access 2000
which is already on the computer.

I think Allen had a small typo and meant

Do a custom install of Office 2007, and you can indicate that you want to
retain the old Access 2000.
