Form from mutliple tables
Hi
I want to create a form so that the information I enter will go to multiple tables. I've tried sub forms but don't like the look of it. I want it to look like a single form would look if it was linked to a single table. Regards |

If you join several tables in a query, there's a good chance the result will not be updateable. Subforms may be your only option. What's so bad about subforms, anyway? -- Message posted via AccessMonster.com http://www.accessmonster.com/Uwe/For...forms/201002/1 |

I want it to look like a single form would look if it was linked to a single table. Regards Please explain these tables. How are they related? What information do they contain? About the only way to do this would be to have an unbound form, with textboxes and other controls, and a command button (or some other suitable event) that would open Recordsets on all of your tables, and migrate data from the unbound form controls into the tables. You would have to provide code for all the validation of data and relationships (which Access does for you with bound forms). More power to you if you want to do it, but you'ld really be reinventing the wheel! -- John W. Vinson [MVP] |
