Default Microsoft Office

Hi, my office is going to be buying new computers. We
currently are using Microsoft Office 97. Once the new
computers are installed, we will upgrade to the latest
version of Microsoft Office. My question is, "Can we load
the same version on to the 3 new computers?, or do we have
to buy 3 new versions of Office?

Thanks,
Barb

Office 97 can easily be run on Windows 98, Win 98SE, Win ME, Windows 2000, windows XP (Home) and windows XP (prof). Also, Office 97 did not have elaborate restrictions of activating and all the nonsense associated with this. My personal opinion is that if you are quite happy using Office 97 and it does everything you want from it then there is no point in buying Office 2003. Just make sure you have downloaded all the Service packs for Office 97 (3 in total) before Microsoft decides to pull the plug!!! I have not upgraded mine and instead I bought WordPerfect Office 12 to make a quick transition. You can buy this for just £15 from http://www.insight.com

UK corporates are buying WordPerfect Office in droves because they are fed up of Microsoft's Licensing RIPOFF.

I use non Microsoft products wherever possible which requires no activation.

I use Netscape 7.2 as my default browser which has everything I need for my work.

Absolutely WRONG. The ONLY office version that allows installation on
anything more than one desktop and one laptop, (as long as only one is used
at any one time) is the Academic version.
