error 1911

I have uninstalled Office 2000 Premium on my home laptop.
I cannot get Office 2003 to install. Following message:

error 1911

"setup cannot register type library for file
C:\ProgramFiles\MicrosoftOffice\Office11\msoutl.ol b"
(sometime it will get further but it always says it can't
register something)

It then completely locks up and I have to manually shut
down. Any ideas??

Your error message of 1911 references this article:

as you can see it refers to Office 2000. If the cause or resolution does not
apply, try this utility:
http://support.microsoft.com/default...ffxp#appliesto
If successful and you are able to install Office 2003, leave your
installation files on your drive when prompted.
