Default open/save office 2003 documents with 2010?

can you open and save in office 2003 format from office 2010? I know you can
do that in office 2007.

what about opening office 2000 format (I know people who still have office
2000)?

Here is just one variation you can use - or Save As - choose Save as type
97-2003...

Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Visio, Word

1. Click the File tab.

2. Click Save & Send.

3. Under File Types, select the earlier file format that you want to save
the file in.

4. If you want to rename the file, type a new name for the file in the File
name box.

5. Click Save.

The answer to all your questions is generally YES! As Office 97-2003 share
the same file format there should be no problem opening any of those year
files in 2010.

The Save as a 97-03 format file can be done pretty much the same way as in
2007. You can also set the default save style as 97-2003, just like you can
do in '07.
