Default Select Table Dialog Box

Hi,

When I am trying to grab data from an excel file to merge
into Word I follow the usual steps, but at one point I get
a Select Table dialog box which is blank. I cannot seem to
proceed beyond that. I've been able to find some info. on
the Knowledge Base Article #289830 which seems to be very
close to my situation. The article mentions that a
possible solution would be to force Word to use DDE
instead of OLEDB:

"Force Word 2002 to use DDE instead of OLEDB for the data
access by supplying the SubType argument of the
OpenDataSource method with wdMergeSubTypeWord2000. Note
that the SubType argument is new to Word 2002; Word 97 and
Word 2000 do not support this argument."

I'm not sure how to go about doing this, anyone have any
ideas?

Thanks.

Ravi

From the Tools menu, select Options and on the General tab, check the box
for "Confirm conversions at Open". When you then go to attach the
datasource, you will be given a choice of which connection method to use.
