Default 3D effect by making an arrow piercing trough a plane

Hello,
I am a newbie to VISIO (using 2003). So I cannot really tell whether
what I want to do is simple or simply too much to ask.

I have a flat shape, a square in my case, and I want to have an arrow
going trough it, by that resembling a 3D effect. This means that the
part of the arrow that is "behind" the shape should be invisible and
the part of the arrow starting where it "breaks/pierces" through the
shape, i.e. the part that is in "front" of the plane, should be
visible.

I was experimenting with sending shapes to back or front. But this
only works for the whole shape and not parts of it.
Any ideas?
Thanks and best,
Stefan
