Outlook 2003 POP3 Servers Get Confused
Hi All
I had configured my POP3 account fine and emails downloaded properly, however, 3 or so days later, no emails arrived, however no error message was given. I checked the server details and found the following: Incoming Server: "localhost" Username: "[servername]\[username]" I changed them back and it worked fine. A couple of days later, it happened again. I fixed the problem and it happened again. It has "undone" itself every few days. This only happens with my POP3 accounts. I have an IMAP account and HTTP account - both work fine with no problem. Thanks in advance |

Outlook 2003 POP3 Servers Get Confused
This is usually an anti-virus (or Anti-Spam) software issue. It changes the
POP3 server name to "localhost", "127.0.0.1", or "pop3.norton.antivirus" in order to scan the e-mail as it downloads. If this prevents you from downloading mail, then the anti-virus software is malfunctioning. Check with the anti-virus software manufacturer for update or configuration help, or disable the anti-virus software from scanning e-mail. http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=303645 OL2000: E-mail Account Settings Are Changed Hal -- Hal Hostetler, CPBE -- Senior Engineer/MIS -- MS MVP-Print/Imaging -- WA7BGX http://www.kvoa.com -- "When News breaks, we fix it!"
