A couple of form questions
In Word 2003 I can't find anything about the following problems in the help:
1. How do I set a specific tab order for fields on a form? 2. How can I use exact, precise placement for a table in my document? I need my fields to line up with an image of the original form (which is in the header and covers the entire page) but when I drag the table around it jumps rather largish distances. I've tried holding down CTRL, ALT and/or SHIFT while dragging the table around but I couldn't get it to go exactly where I wanted. 3. How can I play with the format of a checkbox field? I would like the border of the box to be invisible and the X within a checked box to be a lot darker. -- Thanks "He had had his immortality thrust upon him by an unfortunate accident with an irrational particle accelerator, a liquid lunch and a pair of rubber bands. The precise details of the accident are not important because no one has ever managed to duplicate the exact circumstances under which it happened, and many people have ended up looking very silly, or dead, or both, trying." |

See http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/TblsFldsFms/SetTabOrder.htm. The only reliable way is to open the Table Properties dialog, click the Positioning button, and type in the measurements. If you can drag the table to approximately the right place, you can use the dialog to fine-tune it. Unfortunately, when you try to drag a small amount (Alt is the correct key to use to turn off snap-to-grid), the table has a tendency to lock onto the left or right text margins when you get too close. 3. How can I play with the format of a checkbox field? I would like the border of the box to be invisible and the X within a checked box to be a lot darker. Sorry, there's nothing you can do to change that. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://www.mvps.org/word |
