Default Why doesn't Outlook 2003 AutoCorrect work with Word XP?

All of our employees have Office XP. We upgraded Outlook 2002 to Outlook
2003 because of the functionality and new wonderful features. We've now
discovered that the AutoCorrect Function does not work for Outlook 2003. We
believe it's due to Outlook being the only 2003 product we have. Everything
else is XP 2002. Why won't it use the Word 2002 as the AutoCorrect? Do we
have to upgrade all of our Office XP programs to Office 2003? This doesn't
seem feasable to us. The cost is too great. Is there a quickfix or a way
around this defect?

I have all of Office 2003 installed, plus Word 2002 (XP). With just Outlook
2003 and Word 2002 running, AutoCorrect entries created in either of them
aren't available in the other. However, if I close and re-open Word 2002,
the entries are now cross-pollinated, so to speak, and they suddenly work.
(With Word 2003, the entries are instantly available, and don't require
closing/reopening Word.)

So... when you close and reopen Word 2002, are you seeing that, also? Does
the act of closing/reopening make the A/C entries work? Or, are they always
unavailable?
