Default Reinstalling OE...

....I have a minor bug in my OE. When I forward OE messages (I used a mail
server from Earthlink for which this problem doesn't exist but for which
Usenet is not available) there are no line breaks so even quoted messages
run together. As far as I know, this is my only problem which has existed
since I got this computer and I've not been able to fix it through
conventional means (Options menus).

I'm thinking of reinstalling OE.

Would that help?

While I know how to save my mail and my address book, is there a way to save
my filters?

TIA.

I'm doubtful a reinstall would help.

Can you be a bit more specific on your problem? You news post seemed fine.

Does it only happen with Forwards (new messages and replies are OK)?

You say the problem doesn't occur with Earthlink. Does it occur with another mail server?

Does your message look OK in the Sent Items folder?

Yes. But I never forward as it appears above. I'm able, for instance to
copy the message and paste in a new message, but I don't get headers or
quoting.

A blessing if you can help.

In the message window, try FormatEncodingWestern European (ISO).

Check your settings at ToolsOptionsSendMail SendingPlain Text (try

Your current Identity may be damaged, especially if its the default Main
Identity. Try one or more of your accounts in a new Named Identity
(FileIdentitiesAdd new identity). Assuming all is well, import messages
from the old Identity before deleting it (FileIdentitiesManage
Identities).

Are you still running ZA? Any change if you disable it?

I disabled it this morning since I'm on a non-network computer, figuring I'm
therefore not in need of it.

This is my only problem (I may need help with identities). Are you

If problem persists when connected and with ZA enabled, see if disabling ZA
makes any difference. ZA has given you problems in the past.

I am suggesting creating a new Named Identity. If the problem doesn't
persist in it, import messages from your old identity before deleting it.

I tried setting up a new account and forwarding a message. I had the same
problem.
I didn't delete my old OE, I just created a new identity as per your
suggestion.

Also, I removed Zone Alert; this problem has existed since I got this
computer in October and was constant after I installed ZA (as well as since
I removed it today).

Still open to suggestion or correcton, thanks.

makes any difference. ZA has given you problems in the past.

I am suggesting creating a new Named Identity. If the problem doesn't
persist in it, import messages from your old identity before deleting it.

This is my only problem (I may need help with identities). Are you
suggesting I add an identity and if it works deleting this identity?

I'll
wait for a response. Thanks for all your help.

Your current Identity may be damaged, especially if its the default

Main
Identity. Try one or more of your accounts in a new Named Identity
(FileIdentitiesAdd new identity). Assuming all is well, import
messages from the old Identity before deleting it
(FileIdentitiesManage Identities).

Are you still running ZA? Any change if you disable it?

In the message window, try FormatEncodingWestern European (ISO).

Check your settings at ToolsOptionsSendMail SendingPlain Text
(try MIME/None).

Nope.

Here's what I got:

Can you be a bit more specific on your problem? You news post
seemed
fine. Yes, posts I originate for Usenet seem to be fine.

Does it only happen with Forwards (new messages and replies

are
OK)? Yes. You say the problem doesn't occur with
Earthlink. Does it occur with another mail server? It
doesn't occur with my Earthlink mail; Usenet mail I forward which
goes
through Earthlink has the problem. I'm pasting your post as it

appeared
on a forwarded command: To wit: "Michael

...I have a minor bug in my OE. When I forward OE messages (I used a
mail
server from Earthlink for which this problem doesn't exist

but
for which Usenet is not available) there are no line breaks

so
even quoted messages run together. As far as I know,
this is my only problem which has existed since I got this

conventional means (Options menus).
I'm thinking of reinstalling OE. Would that help?

While I know how to save my mail and my address book, is there a
way to save my filters? TIA. Does
your message look OK in the Sent Items folder? Yes. But I
never forward as it appears above. I'm able, for instance to

copy
the message and paste in a new message, but I don't get headers or

quoting. ...I have a minor bug in my OE. When I forward

Decrease this setting to 76 or lower and see if doing so makes any

I didn't delete my old OE, I just created a new identity as per your
suggestion.

Also, I removed Zone Alert; this problem has existed since I got this
computer in October and was constant after I installed ZA (as well as
since I removed it today).

Still open to suggestion or correcton, thanks.

If problem persists when connected and with ZA enabled, see if
disabling ZA makes any difference. ZA has given you problems in the
past.

I am suggesting creating a new Named Identity. If the problem doesn't
