outlook express archiving software?
Hi,
I've got a lot of emails from the last 7 years. I created a subfolder in outlook express called 'archive inbox' which I put my emails in, and at the moment is has over 18000 emails in it. I did the same for my sent messages creating a subfolder called 'archive sent items' and that has almost 9000 emails in it. I really don't want to delete the messages because I need information from old emails the whole time. But usually I don't access emails that are over a couple of years old. I would like to archive my emails by the year, so that emails from each year are in a separate file, and that older years (eg 2000-2005) are only kept on my external hard drive, but can also be imported back onto my laptop hard drive when necessary. Is there any way of doing this? My first problem is that knowing how to select all the emails from one year. I don't want to have to click on them one by one since often there are a couple of thousand for each year. The second problem is having a system whereby once I plug into a hard drive my outlook express can connect to those emails. That way I can search in outlook express for emails from any year, or by specific year or whatever. Is there any software that can help me do this? Since I've got so many emails my computer keeps having trouble compacting messages, and the result is that I have occassionally lost whole chunks of important messages. Now it's asking me to compact messages and I'm afraid to because I might lose more of them. If I can only sort out this archiving / access problem then I'll be able to clear up some space and relax. Any help or advice would be much appreciated. Best wishes, Dan |

outlook express archiving software?
Firstly your in the wrong newsgroup - This is for outlook, a completely
different app. and since you are using OE, are you not able to access the OE newsreader and connect to msnews.microsoft.com? If you do you will find it easier to locate the correct groups, OE is part of IE Further info on OE http://insideoe.tomsterdam.com/ "danieloutram" wrote in message ...
