Default How can I make Outlook 2002 unavailable prior to installing Ofice 2007 but retain Word 2002, Excel 2002 etc?

I've been told in an earlier thread that:

Only a single instance of Outlook can be installed, you would be advised
to
modify your existing Office 2002 to make Outlook 2002 unavailable
(Thereby
uninstalling Outlook) then reboot prior to installing Office 2007.

Thanks again DL.

But I can't see a way to make Outlook 2002 unavailable. I've tried Control
Panel | Add Remove Programs | Microsoft Office XP Professional | Change,
where Microsoft Outlook for Windows is listed, but I can't see how to
disable only Outlook and retain Word 2002, Excel 2002 etc.

Any help would be appreciated.

TIA.

Chris.

Uninstall Outlook 2002, not "disable" it.

But Outlook 2002 appears to be part of a package, i.e. I am unable to
isolate it to uninstall it without uninstalling other Office 2002 products
at the same time. This completely defeats what I'm trying to do, i.e. have 2
versions, 2002 and 2007, of Word, Excel etc. But I have been told can't
have 2 versions of Outlook.

How can I delete Outlook 2002, which is at C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\Office10\OUTLOOK.exe along with EXCEL.EXE, POWERPNT.EXE and
WINWORD.EXE. I do know that just deleting the exe doesn't uninstall the
program. I also have Office11 and Office12 folders at the same location.

I've tried
Control Panel | Add Remove Programs | Microsoft Office XP Professional |
Change, where Microsoft Outlook for Windows is listed, but I can't see how

MS Office (2002), change, a window opens giving options, one of which is
modify/change, locate Outlook, uninstall

I don't have MS Office as an option in Add/Remove Programs, I have MS Office
XP Professional. When I select Change then Add or Remove Features and click
Next I don't have an Uninstall button, nor do I have and modify/change
options, I only have Help, Back, Update or Cancel.

I really don't want to Uninstall everything then re-Install all bar Outlook
2002. Is there any other way?

Add/removeMS Office XP Pro Change a config window should open,
eventually, giving you the option to either deselect Outlook or a tree view
which when expanded will have an outlook entry with an option to make it
unavailable (uninstall)
If you get no config window with above options, insert your Office XP cd and
go from there
