Default Office 2000 upgrade -- can't find qualifying product

Milly,

No, that article didn't come up with my search. I was given that
information by the polite Indian lady who answered my call to the 800 number.
When I posted here, I was hoping to find fellow users who had had this
problem, and had gotten the top secret information before the life cycle of
Office had expired. Since they gave the information for free until June
2004, somebody here must have been given the information and be willing to
pass it on.

Are you willing to try to help me or are you just trying to defend Microsoft
against li'l ol' me? My contention is that this informaiton exists, and that
between 2000 and 2004 a great many users received that information.

I would like to post a new question looking for users who know how to do
what I need to do. If you'd let me post that question without loading it
down with criticisms of my intelligence, I would really appreciate it. If
not, let me know here, and I'll just go back to using Open Office and not
give Microsoft Office a backward glance.

Joanne

Since you searched the Microsoft Knowledge Base, I am sure you found this

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. All
unsolicited mail sent to my personal account will be deleted without
reading.

After furious head scratching, Joanne asked:

| Geoff,
|
| I read all the documentation, including the Knowledge Base article I
| copied into this thread. It clearly states that there is a fix and
| that technical support has that fix. Nowhere does it say I'd have to
| pay for the fix. I own a legally purchased copy of all the software
| involved, but because of a hard drive failure I had to reinstall the
| software. Microsoft has failed to support its own software, and has
| failed to live up to the promises of their own Knowledge Base.
|
| I came here for information, and find myself surrounded by dense
| (intentionally or unintentionally) Microsoft cheerleaders who would
| rather berate a user than offer help. Their only reply to any
| question seems to be to pay Microsoft and shut up. Well, I'm
| choosing to shut up now.
|
| It was childish of me to respond in kind to Millie's nasty response
| to my original post. I apologize for falling to her level. This
| conversation has gone from useless to incredibly annoying, so I think
| I'll bow out now.
