Default Office 2003 macro security settings via GPO?

Is there a way, hopefully via GPO, that for Word and Excel 2003 I can force
two checkboxes to be checked in everyone's Macro Security? The two boxes are
"Trust all installed add-ins and templates" and "Trust access to Visual Basic
Project".

Default Office 2003 macro security settings via GPO?

Hi Rich,

Glad to see you here.

We can use Office 2003 administrative templates to deploy the Macro
settings:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...720-edc2-479b-
b115-5abb70b3f490&displaylang=en

You will find these settings after having added the adm file (excel11.adm /
word11.adm):

"User Configuration \ Administrative Templates \ Microsoft Office Excel
2003 \ Tools\ Macro \ Security..."

From Office 2003 Group Policies.xls, we can know:

Trust all installed add-ins and templates
Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Excel\Secu rity
DontTrustInstalledFiles
0 | 1
Checked: Run macros, installed COM addins and SmartTags based on the
security level only.
Unchecked: Run any macro installed via the add-in manager (signed or
unsigned) regardless of the security level.

Trust access to Visual Basic Project
Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Excel\Opti ons
AccessVBOM
1 | 0
Allows/Disallows code to access the VBA object model.

There are also machine based settings for these 2 policies which are
located under:

"Computer Configuration \ Administrative Templates \ Microsoft Office 2003
\ Security Settings"

Hope this helps. If you have any concerns, feel free to let us know.

Regards,

Daisy Cao
