Default How to make the Embedded Excel file link to the table of Access

i embedded an Excel file into a Form of Access database, and then added a
PivotTable in that Excel file, so how to make the PivotTable directly link to
the table of that Access database?

I'm not certain that this will work (but I don't know why it wouldn't).
When creating the pivot table, base it on an external data source and then
nominating the Access database after clicking the Get Data button?

You might need to ensure that the database is not opened exclusively in Access.
[In Access 2002: Tools Options Advanced Default open mode: Shared]

If you need to come back for further advice, please mention which version of
Access/Excel you are using.
