Default Manually Marking two separate lines in a table of contents

When I have the following: Article I
Definitions

I highlight all the text and manually mark it, but it
never picks up Definitions which is below it. I know you
can type in Definitions but what a pain. Is there some
way to tweek this so it will capture all text I
hightlight?

G'day "les" ,

What do you mean by manually mark it? Highlight it? Add a bookmark?

I think the OP means selecting text to create a TC field.

G'day "Suzanne S. Barnhill" ,

Them pyschic powers are still present I see. In that case, our poor OP
is screwed, those field fillins tend to auto terminate upon para end.
If you were to format just the para mark at the end of heading para 1
as hidden you might get away with something close.
