Default "To" Display Field

We have tried everything to figure this out. Before we
had Outlook 2003 installed, when typing the recipients
name in the "To" field, it displayed as first and last
name (no email address). Now when you select a name or
type in a name, it defaults back to displaying just an
email address , and does not show the recipient's first
and last name. Someone told me you'd have to write code
to change the display but couldn't some sort of setting
be changed?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Provide enough detail for us to figure out what you want and what you're
asking. What changes did you make to your installation? Are you using
autocompletion or autoresolution? Exactly how are you entering addresses and
what is it you want Outlook to do differently?

Russ is exactly correct. Please provide Outlook ver. prio to upgrade.
Further, please be more specific with your question. It sounds like your
new software is autocompleting where it may have been autoresolving
previously.

Provide more info. here and these folks can help you.

Having to write code is poppycock. I think that your issue is that your
OL2k3 is autocompleting information that is stored in your NK2 file. This
is the cache that holds your autocomplete information. You can edit and or
add or change the records in this file using a utility that we developed for
just such a situation.

Further, once you see what is in this file, you may wish to export the
information, put it into a text editor or Excel type file, and change it the
way that you'd wish to see it. You can then import all of that information
into a contact folder if you wish.

Hope this helps.

Don't purchase Owtlook or Ingressor, there is a free program to help you called NK2csv. It exports your Outlook autocomplete file or NK2 file to a CSV or comma separated value file which Outlook can import.

http://www.epute.com/nk2csv/

GOOD LUCK

Vinas,

If you're going to try to drive traffice to your website by telling people
to NOT BUY our utility, at least point out the subtle differences:

Ingressor - Does have an import utililty OR you can add records one at a
time
Ingressor - Does export and display ALL relevant data, NAME, SMTP address,
GAL alias, x500 data
Ingressor - Does read all FAX, EXCHANGE, MAPIPDL, and SMTP records in the
file
Ingressor - Provides for the ability to globally change any part of any of
the above fields within the NK2
Ingressor - Is fast
Ingressor - Will be able to view, export PKI data
Ingressor - Can run in a commandline mode to correct NK2 files in 1,000's of
files, automatically

We believe in a free market society and think that customers will find that
the NK2CSV utility, while it may serve some users, is truly worth the price.

You support free market? right.

The NK2csv project will remain freeware even after the next (non-beta)
release. Until that point I think people will continue to use NK2csv.
NK2csv was not designed to take the place of Ingressor. At this pace it
certainly may, however. Google it, we're number 1.
