That gives pixels? That's the plan. It may be a litte confusing out of context. The FAQ explains the same thing TAJ did earlier ... for full slide images, you want the image size (in pixels) to match the projector's max resolution. This other trick is just a quickie way of working out how large an image should be (in pixels) if it'll be smaller than full slide size. Frankly, it's mostly for the precision-driven types. For most reasonable purposes, approximation is good enough. 'Bout 1/4 slide wide, projecting at 1024x768, 1024's about 1000, 1000/4 is 250, slosh in a bit o' lagniappe and call it 300 pixels wide. ============================== PPT Frequently Asked Questions http://www.pptfaq.com/ PPTools add-ins for PowerPoint http://www.pptools.com/ |

I was just trying to figure out how changing Windows' Regional Settings to
metric would get you to pixels. I looked there, but I didn't see anything that jumped out at me. -- Echo [MS PPT MVP] http://www.echosvoice.com What's new in PPT 2007? http://www.echosvoice.com/2007.htm Fixing PowerPoint Annoyances http://tinyurl.com/36grcd PowerPoint 2007 Complete Makeover Kit http://tinyurl.com/32a7nx "Steve Rindsberg" wrote in message ... There's a reason for that, you know. g To the original poster -- changing Windows settings to metric rather than inches won't help you change your PowerPoint display or page settings to pixels. Besides, I think if you're wanting to go from CM to PIXEL, you're probably already using metric settings. Unfortunately, I don't know how to change your PPT page setup from CM to PIXEL. I don't know how to force PPT to actually show pixels as the unit of measurement But I'm curious -- why do you need to do this? -- Echo [MS PPT MVP] http://www.echosvoice.com What's new in PPT 2007? http://www.echosvoice.com/2007.htm Fixing PowerPoint Annoyances http://tinyurl.com/36grcd PowerPoint 2007 Complete Makeover Kit http://tinyurl.com/32a7nx Enter the Create a Spark Presentation Contest here! http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/te...395221033.aspx |

Echo's correct; you can't set regional settings to pixels and you can't set PPT measurements to pixels. In fact, it wouldn't really make sense; the size of something in pixels will depend on the system you play a presentation back on.
