deleted text

I have Word 97. I had some documents done in Japanese and pasted it in
Word. There were some syntax corrections that were made so I am in the
process of correcting and finalizing the documents.

Problem - the corrections were done by someone else and that person
highlighted the errors by lining through the error. When I tried to remove
the corrections, it says "deleted text" and it won't clear. Is this because
my Word is outdated? How do I removed the corrected phrases?

Activate the reviewing toolbar if it isn't already active and accept the
changes. Then, turn off Track Changes mode.
