Default Help! Lost assignment- can I undo?

Disaster! I accidently 'replaced' my assignment with a
different one. I did it yesterday and just realised. Is
there any way of retrieving it or will I have to start
again? I have run a 'search' to no success. I am running
XP.

If you have the option to backup document files selected, you might find the
original under the filename Backup 0f .......BAK If it exists, it might be
in the same directory as the original unless you selected another location
for backup files at some time.

That would be "Backup of filename.wbk." .BAK was the extension used for
backup files in (much) older versions of Word.
