Default Styles again - Space after paragraph

Dear MVPs,

All your advice has turned me into a perfectionist! But thanks once again.

Quick query on space before of after paragraphs of a certain style: if you
have a sytle following a style, where both have space before or space after
settings, Word always makes the space the larger of the two - why aren't
they adding together instead? Wouldn't this make more sense, and how do I
change it?

Or indeed, should I change it? Does having it as it is have some glaring
advantage I've yet to spot?

Once again, thanks in advance!

P.S. looked on shaunakelly.com, but to no avail - otherwise very useful
site!

P.P.S. Running Word 2002 on Windows XP.

Default Styles again - Space after paragraph

This is the HTML paragraph spacing that I believe Shauna mentioned in her
post.

Ah - wouldn't have known what HTML means in relation to Word!

I'll try it out, and thanks once again.

Just found it - lurking right at the bottom, I must have missed it - many
apologies!
