Default how do I change the Visio shape type in a cross-functional flow?

Example would be to change a data entry shape to a pre-defined process shape.
(I need to change MANY shapes so would be awkward and time-consuming to
copy/delete/paste text from old shape to new shape).
Thank you!

Please try our utilities:
http://www.visio-utilities.sandrila.co.uk/

There is a shape substitute feature.

Hi,
Our Search and Replace utility does what you ask. You can see a
description and download a free trial at:

Subsituting one Visio shape for another in a drawing context requires
some flexibility. It's not like search/replace for text. This tool
handles most of the conditions you may find since it's a bit more
complex than just saying "change this for that". I hope you find it
helpful.
