Default PowerPoint 2003 Compatibility Issues

I have installed the required patch to be able to open
files from previous versions of PowerPoint, however, now
that the files open, graphics are in teh wrong places,
some are inverted, and in general the presentations are
just all messed up.

Considering the price of this software, it sure would be
nice if it worked with previous versions of itself, and I
would appreciate any help that anyone could give me in
resolving these issues. I have searched everywhere and
have been unable to find anything about this.

You must've jumped several versions when you upgraded.
