Default "unable to open your default email foldedrs"

I just recently uprgraded a single terminal in my dermatology practice frfrom office 2003 basic edition to office XP. since then I've been experiencing considerable trouble with outlook. I removed the older versions of outlook and reinstalled officeXP. i continue to get the same message when opening outlook "unable to open your deefault email folders. could not open the item. try again."

i would appreciate any suggestions.

Thank you
