"Contacts" folder is showing under "Journal" and not under "mailbo
A user's Contact folder is listed under his Journal Folder. It is not a copy
of their Contacts but their actual Contacts. The Contacts folder is not listed under their Mailbox where it should be. It also cannot be moved from under their Journal. If you attempt to do so you get the following: Can't move the item: Special folders including the Inbox, Contacts, Calender, Notes, Tasks, and Journal folders, cannot be moved. I am unsure how they got there but would like them to be where they should. They do seem to function properly and if you click on Contacts button in the Navigation pane they take you right to them. Anyone ever see this? |

Try starting Outlook once with the /ResetFolders switch. If you need help
using Outlook command line switches, look he http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;296192 -- Jocelyn Fiorello MVP - Outlook *** Messages sent to my e-mail address will NOT be answered -- please reply only to the newsgroup to preserve the message thread. *** In , macro12 wrote: A user's Contact folder is listed under his Journal Folder. I ran the /ResetFolders switch and it did re-create the Contacts folder under
the root of the profile. I then just had to export the Contacts folder that was under the Journal to a .csv file and then import that back in to the correct Contacts folder. I was then able to delete the old Contacts folder from under Journal...thanks for the help!!! "Jocelyn Fiorello [MVP - Outlook]" wrote: Try starting Outlook once with the /ResetFolders switch. You're welcome. Next time you don't have to export to CSV...you can just
drag and drop items from one folder to another. If you switch to an unfiltered table view such as By Category you can select all items with CTRL+A and drag them as a group. -- Jocelyn Fiorello MVP - Outlook *** Messages sent to my e-mail address will NOT be answered -- please reply only to the newsgroup to preserve the message thread. *** "macro12" wrote in message ...
