Default Importing Word Outline Doc into Visio

It states explicitly on the MS web site that:

"You can also import a Word outline into Visio as a brainstorming
diagram,"

Could someone be kind enough exactly how this is possible. I have be
unsuccessfull with everything

TIA

I haven't tried it recently, but, as I remember the word outline is pulled
in as an xml document (it's a one way trip btw) so it's probably important
what version of Word you're using.

I am using Word 2007 and VIsio Pro 2007.
I have saved the word Doc as XML and attempted to import to Visio but
receive a "schema" error. Was MS lying when they said this could be
done?

Oh Come on Microsoft don't you have the minimum amount of decency to
answer this question?

by the way this is a user forum, if you'd like to get a MS response you
should open a trouble ticket with them

(who doesn't work for MS)

In my experience, I haven't ever caught MS intentionally lying in print.

I just tried some a few simple tests..
a.) create a mindmap in visio, save as xml, schema saved as brainstorm
schema...
b.) read the saved brainstorm xml file back into viso, came back fine
c.) export the brainstorm drawing to Word, showed up as expected in a new
document (xml based)
d.) modified the outline in Word and attempted to save it back, Word 2007
gives a warning message about
overwriting the schema and then trashes the output.
IMHO, I'd suggest you carry the battle over to the Word people,
Al

We all know MSoft monitors these newsgroups. So as I said I think the
only decent thing they could di would be to explain how they
themselves said you could import a Word outline into Visio brainstorm
(obviously the didn't mean the round-about way you had attempted) or
admit that they were ....lying....oh I meant "mistaken advertising"....
