Default Can't Read e-mail sent in File: PowerPoint

I have Windows XP. Occasionally I receive an e-mail that I can't open and by searching the web am directed to PowerPoint homepage. Is this because I don't have PowerPoint? Can I do anything to read a file sent in PowerPoint without having it?

You need to download and install the PowerPoint 2003 Viewer from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en

Oh, and tell the people who send you these files to always send this
information along with their presentations. It's really inconsiderate of
them to send files and just assume that everyone knows what a PowerPoint
file is and is able to read their files. I'm sure that it took you a good
bit of detective work to find your way here. Good job on your part!
