When I copy 3 rows in a table the rows get out of size
When selecting 3 rows in a table, (row contains 4 cells.)
Make a copy, select one row and paste. Then the copied rows are not positioned in line with the original cells. This happens on one computer, but at another one not, so what can be the problem? Thanks in advance

This happens in the same document at the same machine.
It happens on one machine, but not on another machine so I guess it must be a setting, but not sure, because we've checked already a lot of settings. Word version is Word 2003 I select 3 rows in a table, ctrl-C, select one single row in the same table, ctrl-V and the rows are placed into the table, but the cells are outlined. That is a wrong guess, because I earlier wrote, it is happening at one machine

The default paste options could be set differently on the two machines.

Was hoping this would be the solution, but sad enough, settings on both
machines are exactly the same. Checked at Word 2002 - 2003, Word 97 - 2000 and Custom. I can tell you that it is the only machine with the problem, next to me another machine is working fine. Only difference between the machines is that the "problem" machine is a desktop and the "right" machines are laptops. Again, as Suzanne suggested, you seem to be pasting a nested table in the problem case. This usually occurs when you don't properly select the row to copy (I.e. the end of row marker is not selected), or, sometimes, when the source document is closed before the pasting is done. If, as you sate, the two machines are identical (Same Windows and Word version), the Paste settings are identical, the document is identical, then all that remains is user manipulation that must differ in some way. Make sure that the method used to select the row on the laptop generates the exact same selection than the method used on the PC. Those laptop pointing devices can be tricky. Also, to make sure you see all that you are doing, display all non-printing characters when comparing what is going on (Click on the Show All button on the toolbar, the ¶ button). -- ______________________________ Jean-Guy Marcil Montreal, Canada
