Default posting problems STILL!

Can anyone interpret the error message below, line for line, and give me an idea if it is an OE problem or a bellsouth problem. I have set up my news account exactly as bellsouth.net instructs, and attempted to post a request for help at bellsouth.net.support.asdl, but go figure--I CAN"T POST TO THEIR FRIGGIN' NG EITHER!

Outlook Express could not post your message. Subject 'test', Account: 'newsgroups.bellsouth.net', Server: 'newsgroups.bellsouth.net', Protocol: NNTP, Server Response: '441 Posting Failed (Rejected by POST filter)', Port: 119, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 441, Error Number: 0x800CCCA9

Thanks

See if any of these tidbits apply in your case:

441 - No valid newsgroups in "?????????"
One or more of the newsgroups you have entered on the Project Settings is
not valid (does not exist).

From: address not in internet syntax
Most news servers we have tested do not validate that the From: address is
formatted correctly, that is name@domain. We have however seen some servers
return this error when the From: address is not in this format. Change your
From: address so that is formatted like name@domain.

line 3 too long
The list of newsgroups to post/cross-post your message to is too long for
your news server. How long is too long? It varies from news server to news
server. Read Current Usenet SPAM Thresholds and Guidelines to get an idea
of what the generally accepted guidelines for cross-posting are. Try
reducing the number of newsgroups, splitting the message and newsgroups into
two or more messages, or try the "Limit cross-posting to n groups at a time"
feature.

The 0x800ccca9 error is just generic for unable to post your message. If
none of the above apply, then I'd suggest contacting Bell South again and
ask to have your call "escalated" to a higher level of technical help.
You're the one paying Bell South for the service. As a point of info, I
have no difficulty in using Telnet to connect to the server
"newsgroups.bellsouth.net" so the server address is correct.

Or you can visit this webpage and click on Technical Support for help"

Yes it exists, as it is rec.outdoors.fishing.fly. Please try it yourself to
corroborate.

I am only posting to one NG: rec.outdoors.fishing.fly at a time?

See this is what is so strange? I was goin' along postin' just fine then all of a
sudden my posts began hangin' up in the Out.box. However, the server I was posting to
was "news.clt.bellsouth.net There was no warning or e-mail sent out to tell me that
they had change their server addy (?), yet some of my post would go thru and some
would just hang. Now nothing will go thru, yet I still receive downloads of other
folks posts? Bellsouth customer service tells me to contact Microsoft, cause it ain't
their problem. However, if it was an OE program problem, I shouldn't be able to post
to this NG, right?

Or you can visit this webpage and click on Technical Support for help"
http://home.bellsouth.net/

If only I could! I have tried to connect to their tech. support via their home page,
but the page just hangs up or when I do get to the linked page (?), when I click in
the dial-up link it just recycles right back to the same page again, over and over
again?

I perplexed and ****ed. I really don't want to have to pay for a news service, when
it should come with my ISP. I'm to the point of sendin' a very nasty e-mail to
bellsouth and sign-up with another service, but that's gonna cost me for the
connection to bellsouth and then the cost of a new service. I'm not cheap or
anything, but I certianly don't swim in bucks workin' as an electrician for the state
of North Carolina.

Thanks for you help, and allowin' me to unload a bit!

Thanks, but I already have, but I haven't receive a response yet. I'm pullin' what
little bit of hair I have out!

I imagine it's the same with all of us NG junkies, if I can't get my ROFF
(rec.outdoors.fishing.fly) fix, I become very uncivilized!

Thanks again!

Mark

First time you mentioned this tidbit. Empty your Outbox (move or delete
'em); Close OE; Find and delete Outbox.dbx in your identity's store.

Make sure the server you are using is news.bellsouth.net and try again. If
you still encounter a problem, then your dbx file in your message store may
be corrupted. Determine the location of your message store folder
(Tools/Options/Maintenance and Store Folder button will tell you) then
*close* Outlook Express, use Windows Explorer to navigate to the Store
Folder location and find and delete Outbox.dbx - you can then reopen Outlook
Express and see if the problem is fixed.

No, I mentioned it in earlier posts, and was told to do as you have just suggested,
and it had no effect at all.
