Default Outlook 2003 Accounts

We have a shared mailbox which downloads both our emails when we log on.

Do you each have a totally different user name and password for email or do
you have a shared mailbox where you can download her email when you log on?

My email is set as the default. It always says it is the default, even
though it does not act this way, either for replies or for new email.
Thanks
for your help. Should I do a repair on Outlook?

That's definitely not how it's supposed to work. Look in Tools,

is her account marked as the default when this happens? Also - is it
doing
this only on replies or new mail too?

My email account is set as the default, if my wife does an email and

as the default for sending email even when I go to send a message.

We are sharing the outlook profiles. My wife, the other person, is
not
very
computer saavy and this is the easiest method for her as far as I
know.
I
am
still unclear as to why making a particular account the default
simply
doesn't work. It is what I expect anyway.

"Diane Poremsky [MVP]" wrote:

You would be better off using windows logons and fast user
switching.

No, only separate accounts within Outlook.

Are you using separate log-ins for the different users?

Set her account to send but not receive email. Outlook replies on the
account mail arrives on and when she sends, it's also downloading.

Ctrl+Alt+S or go to tools, send/receive and browse the menu for Define
Send/Receive settings. Select the accounts and click Edit... select her
account and remove the checks to include it in a receive.
