Text in tables
When I create a table, words divide in odd places, not as they do at the end
of a line in regular text. For example, if the word "Microsoft" were at the table's right border, it might divide as Microso-ft or Microsof-t. How can I format text in tables to use either standard hyphenation or no hyphenation at all? Thanks. --Jon |

Text in tables
Are you using a non-standard font in the table? Some fonts are
internally defined as symbol fonts, and Word doesn't properly hyphenate text formatted with a symbol font. Does the problem persist if you change the font to Times New Roman or Arial? You can turn off automatic hyphenation by clicking on Tools | Language | Hyphenation | uncheck the "Automatically hyphenate" box | OK. Note also that Word will break words which are too long to fit in a
(narrow) table cell; the way around this is to either turn on automatic hyphenation or press Ctrl+Hyphen to insert a conditional hyphen. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "garfield-n-odie" wrote in message ...
