Split table sends last line to top of same page
I have a document which has tables over several pages, and I have
always used 'split table' when it reaches the end of the page to start a new table on the next page. For the last few days, if I try to do this then the table splits, but the last line of the old table (the one I put the cursor after to split it) jumps up to the top of its page and tries to occupy the same space as the first line of that table. Also if I try to paste table cells into a different document they paste at the very top of the page and not where I put the cursor. This is happening on all documents I've tried, not just one. I'm not aware of having changed anything, and I have no idea why this is happening. Thank you for any help you can give me. Jen |

I can't see how this would happen unless the table has become wrapped. You
don't say what version of Word you have, but if it's Word 2000 or above, go to the Table tab of Table Properties and make sure text wrapping is set to None. I'm curious as to why you are splitting the table. This prevents you from continuing headings from one page to the next. Although Word doesn't like tables that extend over *many* pages, I can't think why you would want to split a table at the end of *every* page. -- Suzanne S.
