Thanks What sort of information are you looking for? the only thing I can think of is to either make sure that all your 2007 format documents have been saved in 97-2003 format, or to install the compatibility pack once you have reverted to 2003... |

I just recently installed an upgrade to microsoft office 2007. I am now looking to go back to m/o 2003 pro. How can I do this with loosing anything or messing anything up. I do that im am going to have to save a file from outlook, but im not sure which one. Or should i just uninstall 2007 all together and reinstall m/o 2003 pro? |

To revert back to Office 2003 from Office 2007 you will need to uninstall Office 2007 and re-install Office 2003. Save all your files and then you can put them back into Office 2003 later

However what Peter said is incorrect - yes backup your data files but if all goes well there should be no need to "put them back into Office" as he quaintly puts it.....an un-install and re-install should not affect any DATA..... |

Revert to Office 2003 from 2007
Gordon
And how will he get the different data back in there when downgrading cleanly . Magically it will appear already installed back in the 2003 version all by itself ??. pst and doc and ppt etc Have done a few here for some clients and always had to put them back into the different version being downgraded after a clean new installation Doing an Upgrade then I will agree with what you are saying -- Peter Please Reply to Newsgroup for the benefit of others Requests for assistance by email can not and will not be acknowledged. Uninstalling an office product does NOT delete DOCUMENTS that were previously created. All the OP has to do is to do File-Open (in Word say and navigate to where his documents have been stored all along. Now if you are talking about SETTINGS, then that's a different matter, but just uninstalling Office 2007 ans re-installing Office 2003 has NO EFFECT WHATSOEVER on documents created by the OP.... Have done a few here for some clients and always had to put them back into the different version being downgraded after a clean new installation Well you must be doing something wrong then..... |
