Ready to Install Office Home & Student 2007 Edition

You can have more than one version of most Office applications on your
computer, except that you can only have one version of Outlook.

If you only want the 2007 versions of Word, Excel, etc., then in my
experience the 2007 installation will be smoother if you uninstall the
old Office version before you install the new Office version. Back up
Word's normal.dot template and any custom templates you created,
autocorrect list, and custom dictionary before you uninstall. See

information. The Office 2007 setup program offers an Upgrade
installation option, which is supposed to automatically remove the old
Office version for you, but in my experience it doesn't always work like
it is supposed to.

If you want to keep the old versions of Word, Excel, etc., alongside the
2007 versions, then choose a Custom installation of 2007, and choose to
keep the old versions in the Installation Options tab. Back up Word's
normal.dot template and any custom templates you created, autocorrect
list, and custom dictionary before you install the 2007 version. See

transcription with Word, which makes your intended use a

Any help in this would be appreciated. I want the smoothest transition to
2007 that I can get. I do Medical Transcription from home and can't afford
to have down time on my MS Word program. Will install sometime in the next
day or two after I finish a day's work so I can orient myself with the new
program.

FYI - I installed OFFICE 2007 and chose the "upgrade" option, and my programs
all upgraed and installed perfectly. No problems. Shortcuts & templates
were all there.
