Default template formatting issue

I am using the pocket reference template and want to insert it into another
word document for a graduate school project (APA)....trouble is, the
formatting changes entirely and it's unreadable. How do I fix this? Thank
you in advance.

See http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/styl...xtChanges.html.

If you're using Paste Special in one of the more recent versions of Word,
you may be able to use the "Destination formatting" option on the paste
button.

Otherwise, the only way to avoid changes is to rename the styles in either
the source or the destination so there are no styles in common between them.
