Default Word Art with coloums

I want to put a picture across a whole page in landscape mode. Then I want to have two columns of text that appear over the picture. Finally, I want to write in each column with as little a margin within each column as possible.

I tried to do this using Word Art to get the picture on the page, but when I then asked for two columns, Word would not let me type anything on the page in either column. Can you please tell me in easy steps how to do what I want?

Set the wrapping on your picture to Behind Text. You can then format the
document text as two columns.
