Default 3D borders

I use Word2000. Tried to apply 3-D page border, but it does not seem to
work.
It reverses to 'box' border. What can I do?

The 3-D setting works only with line styles that are not symmetric -- for
example, the one-thin-and-one-thick-line, or the single-direction gradient.
It works by flipping the direction of the line on two of the sides; if the
line looks the same before and after flipping, you won't see any 3-D effect.
